Fat, Feminist and Free

This stand up performance is based on Pramada’s encounters with many different people and some crazy situations. Some were funny and seemed impossible and yet they happened and some were not so funny. This performance strings together issues of identity, sexuality, body image and takes a tongue in cheek look at the world we all inhabit.

Pramada Menon is an independent consultant working on issues of gender, sexuality, sexual rights, women’s human rights and issues of leadership and organizational development. She is the co-founder of CREA (www.creaworld.org), an organization working on issues of women’s human rights and was the Director Programs at CREA until March 2008.

She has spent the last two decades of her professional life questioning, challenging and seeking answers on issues of women’s human rights. Her primary interest lies in working with people and she has facilitated learning processes with a number of people on a range of issues related to gender, sexuality and leadership. Pramada would like to develop new ways of learning and teaching and is currently exploring ways in which humor can be injected into the world of social change. She is currently Artist in Residence at the Centre for Media and Cultural Studies, TISS.

well been there..heard her..laughed at..well not really understanding whether those laughs were on expense of me being a male or she being female..or just being able to be part of the society where all have access to all resources and afford to use all F words, P words and V words….but yes humourous but expense of wot? I know I sound confused coz I m…well some good suggestions at the end….You wanna deal with stereotype parents deal it yourself you know your parents more than me…your friend thinks that are not a BMW but a cute gal…than you are with wrong groups just becoz they tells her dat she is @#$&able….and so on so forth…quite informative and not forgetting humourous…quite an expereince….m ready for bombardments DEAR ALL F’s…sincerely wish some 1 atleast would try to look into it from the way i look into it….hope!!!

Its Feminst, Penis and Vagina.. not F’s, P’s and V’s….. Dont fear these words. Its reality. Not using the word does not make it less real.

Speak its a part of your body and Feminism is about equality.. Im guessing you heard that already… So are you not a feminist?

    @ 🙂 ….even using F/P/V’s and not d full word …does not makes less real either…

further, i beleive that using F/P/V’s and sprinking it in your dicourse doesnt essentially makes one feminist..for me itz a though process n more of change in attitude in this phalo-centric world….so r u feminist?
